I received my Bachelor's Degree in Digital Media from SCAD in the mail today. Now back to building airplanes...

So I finally received the notification of which classes transferred. Not a bad list, at least twelve classes, up to fifteen pending portfolio review. That will leave between twenty-one and twenty-four left to take, so two to three years until a Bachelor's in Interactive Design and Game Development. Also, I received scholarships, one for academic honors and the other for art honors. Those along with the grants I've been given will cover about sixty percent of the tuition. Now I just need to find funding for that other forty percent, because I refuse to accept student loans unless absolutely necessary.

If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

So, since I am something of a masochist, I decided that a two-year degree wasn't enough. I submitted an application, teacher recommendations, and my newly revamped portfolio to the Savannah College of Art and Design for review.

Today I received the welcome packet and a notice that I was awarded the SCAD Academic Honors Award. That, in addition to the Pell Grant, should help cover some of the cost. They are still reviewing my portfolio for other scholarships. Hopefully I can get it all paid for. I will be doing online classes, so that may decrease the cost somewhat.

Keep looking for more work to show up here. I have a feeling things are going to get crazy again.

The portfolio renovations are almost complete. I ended up redoing all of the graphics and even re-rendering some of the 3-D pieces. The worst was the animation involving the particle system and gravity fields, that took forever to render.

On a somewhat related note, I still find it pathetic that people are using Poser to create images and passing them off as their own. To me that's like taking a screen capture of a game and claiming it's your art. Seriously, learn to make your own 3-D model. And some of them are getting Daily Deviations to boot. Yet another reason why I've stayed out of the DA community. If you kiss enough @$$ you'll eventually end up being featured, and I'm not here to suck up. I just post things here so that I can give people links to it. My actual portfolio website is going to be up under a less remote name and I will be designing the entire site myself, not working within DA's confines. Yet another project on the back burner.
